A bus carrying Catholic pilgrims crashed in Croatia. About informs RIA Novosti, with reference to the national television channel HRT.
“The accident occurred at approximately 5.40 am (6.40 Moscow time) on the highway in the direction of Zagreb between the villages of Jarek-Bisashki and Podgorets of Varazdin District. A bus with Polish numbers flew off the road and according to preliminary reports several people were killed and even more injured, Croatian national television reported.
Later, it was learned that 11 people died at the accident site and another passenger died in the hospital where he was taken. In addition, 33 victims were hospitalized.
According to the head of the Croatian Ministry of Internal Affairs, the bus is registered in Poland. In the cabin were Catholic pilgrims traveling to Medjugorje in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Police are at the scene to determine the cause of the accident.
