Russia sees boom in hybrid and electric vehicle sales 15:00

In Russia, demand for cars with hybrid powertrains by the summer of 2024 will increase 4 times compared to the same period last year. This is stated in the Avito Auto study provided to socialbites.ca.

Secret experts analyzed demand, supply and prices for hybrid and electric vehicles in June-August 2024.

“It turned out that the demand for hybrids increased by 4 times annually, and the demand for electric cars by 80%, and by 19% and 11% respectively compared to the spring. The study noted that the number of advertisements for the sale of hybrids in Russia in the summer of 2024 increased by 3.4 times compared to the summer of the previous year and by 12% compared to the spring of 2024.

Among hybrid cars, the LiXiang L9 crossover attracts the greatest interest among Russians. Its demand share is 14 percent. The average cost of such a car is 8.4 million rubles. It is followed by the LiXiang L7 (13%) and Voyah Free (9.5% demand share).

Avito Auto experts named Zeekr 001, Xiaomi SU7 and Zeekr X the most popular electric cars.
