Negros on the Island of Philippine recorded the explosion of one of the most active volcanoes in the country – Canlaon. This was reported by Philippine experts institute Volcanology and seismology.
According to the institute, the ash emission reached a height of about 4.5 km. As the experts point out, the explosion started at 2:55 local time (on Monday, 21:55 Moscow time) and took about five minutes. As a result, there was a strong grayish fuel cloud on the ventilation of the volcano. In this context, civil aviation officials received suggestions to warn the pilots about a period of danger near the hill, as volcanic ash could pose a threat to the operation of aircraft engineers.
Five possible volcanic anxiety levels were created in the area around Canlaon. The inhabitants were called not to approach the crater near six kilometers. In addition, local authorities were advised to prepare for possible evacuation of the population if the volcano’s activity is further strengthened.
Canlaon is located in the national park and is a popular object among tourists. The height of the volcano exceeds 2.4 thousand meters and the base of the base reaches 30 km. The registered last explosion took place on April 8 this year.
