Most often, drivers in Russia are fined for speeding from 20 to 40 km/h. The share of such fines is about 70%. Maxim Kolyadov, head of work with individuals at the insurance broker AMsec24, told socialbites.ca.

Citizens of the Russian Federation receive another 10 percent penalty for non-observance of signs, and less than 5 percent for violation of safety measures, or rather, not wearing seat belts, the expert said.

The highest fines are imposed in Moscow and St. Petersburg, the lowest in the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug and the Magadan Region.

Kolyadov noted that the average fine for a driving violation in Russia over the past five years is about 800 rubles. It is noteworthy that 90 percent of Russians pay fines immediately and do not allow any delays.
