As part of the inspections, traffic police officers prepare reports on drivers under two articles of the Code of Administrative Offenses (CAO) of Russia. They are held accountable for exceeding the established noise level under Article 8.23. Inspectors also penalize drivers and motorcyclists who have made changes to the design of their vehicles under Article 12.5.
