Prices for “gray” electric vehicle models will increase due to the introduction of new customs clearance rules in Russia. In this respect report Izvestia cites Anton Shaparin, vice president of the National Automobile Union (NAU).
“We can say with confidence that “gray” cars imported through Kyrgyzstan, Belarus, Armenia or Kazakhstan will become noticeably more expensive: customs officers will have the opportunity to check at what customs value this car was originally imported, whether it is registered for one or more persons owner. another optional program in another country,” Shaparin said.
According to him, all electric car and hybrid models that are no longer officially represented in our country will be imported separately for a specific customer.
In the Russian Federation, the procedure for calculating the amount of payment for the import of cars from the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) to the Russian Federation has changed. The relevant decree of the Russian government came into force on April 1. Therefore, taxes and duties that are no longer paid due to understatement of the customs value of cars imported from EAEU countries to the Russian Federation will be taken into account as part of the recycling fee. Nothing will change for citizens and companies that import vehicles from these union countries directly through the customs clearance procedure in Russia.
In addition, the customs clearance procedure for electric motor vehicles imported from EAEU countries must now be carried out in the Russian Federation.
Previously reportedIt was stated that foreign car prices may increase by 30-40% due to new customs clearance rules.
