Togliatti electric vehicle startup Zetta has ceased to exist. In this respect reports Samara publication “Autobroker Club”.
“The history of the Russian electric vehicle startup Zetta can be considered irrevocably closed: the production area and equipment of the project were sold in Tolyatti. The project stalled because it did not meet the estimate; In total, approximately 570 million rubles were invested,” the message reads.
It is stated that other companies will soon establish production facilities and produce furniture and ATVs in the building in Tolyatti where they will produce Zetta automobiles.
The head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Denis Manturov, announced that mass production of the Zetta electric car began in the first quarter of 2020, after which the dates were postponed several times. During his visit to Togliatti in March 2021, Manturov took a test drive in one of the prototypes of the Zetta electric car. During the test drive, the head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade said that Zetta, which has received over 300 million rubles of state funding in the form of R&D subsidies, will begin mass production before the end of 2021.
Zetta is the first Russian electric car planned to be produced in Tolyatti. This is a small three-door hatchback with electric drive. The maximum speed of the car is 120 km/h.
