The first social network for drivers, We Are Drivers, will be created in Russia. In this respect to write Izvestia refers to the press service of the National Technology Initiative (NTI).
“The main feature of our idea is that drivers can communicate with each other by pointing their smartphone cameras at the vehicle number. In addition, a map of traffic participants is also compiled, and drivers will be able to ask for help from other people in case something happens on the road,” explained project leader Ivan Yurin.
He noted that the app will prohibit the driver from writing personal messages while driving because it is unsafe.
It is expected that it will take approximately another year for the project to be fully implemented. Although the developers have only managed to create the project’s website, they will need to develop mobile applications for Android and iOS. Project representatives noted that their target audience is drivers between the ages of 18 and 45 who actively use social networks and instant messaging programs.
Before that, press secretary of Russian President Dmitry Peskov in the name Telegram creator Pavel Durov should monitor the messenger more closely, as it “is increasingly becoming a tool in the hands of terrorists used for terrorist purposes.” He added that no one will block Telegram on the territory of the Russian Federation, but this requires more attention.
