The average salary of auto mechanics in Russia in 2023 was 71 thousand rubles, and the average was 67 thousand rubles. This is stated in a study by the Autoretail group of companies and the Rabota.ru service (available from socialbites.ca).
“The demand for auto mechanics has increased significantly – the increase in vacancies in September 2023 was 39.6% year-on-year. There has also been a gradual increase in the number of resumes for auto mechanics since August 2022. “This may be explained by increased competition in blue-collar occupations and the movement of automotive mechanics into related fields, such as construction, where wages may be higher,” he said.
The highest salaries are offered to auto mechanics in the Tambov (115 thousand rubles on average) and Murmansk (105 thousand rubles) regions. Automobile mechanics in the Komi Republic and Kaluga region can earn an income of 100 thousand rubles. Specialists of the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug can receive 97 thousand rubles.
In other regions, service workers earn slightly less. For example, in Moscow the average salary offer is 90 thousand rubles, in the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug – 88 thousand rubles, and in the Belgorod region – 85 thousand rubles. In St. Petersburg, as well as in the Irkutsk, Voronezh and Sverdlovsk regions, this figure is 80 thousand rubles.
The study found that the most in-demand skills for auto mechanics are vehicle repair and maintenance, as well as chassis repair, plumbing and brake repair.
