Lexus launches next-gen crossover RX

Lexus has introduced the fifth generation RX crossover. This is stated in: Message brand press office

The car is built on the new GA-K platform. Compared to the previous model, the novelty has a more rigid body, and the car itself turned out to be 90 kg lighter. This was achieved through the use of aluminum hood and fenders. The length of the car has not changed and is 4890 mm. However, the crossover has become 25mm wider (1920mm) and 10mm lower (1695mm) than the previous model. The wheelbase has increased by 60 mm (up to 2850 mm).

At top trim levels, the new Lexus RX will feature a 14-inch touchscreen. And the touchpad in the central tunnel will no longer exist. Among the interesting options is a driver monitoring camera. For example, if the driver falls asleep or faints while driving, the car will stop.

The basic version of the RX 350 will receive a 2.4-liter engine with 279 horsepower. The hybrid modification of the RX 350h will be equipped with a 2.5-liter gasoline engine and a power plant with an electric motor. The total output of the unit will be 245 hp. There will also be a plug-in hybrid RX450h+ that produces a peak power of 306 hp.

The most powerful will be the hybrid Lexus RX 500h F Sport. Such a car will receive a 2.4-liter turbocharged engine with a capacity of 371 hp. European sales of the model will begin this fall.
