Volkswagen warns it will not start work in Russia in 2022

Volkswagen does not plan to resume production in Russia in the near future. About informs Autonews referred to a letter sent to the brand’s Russian dealers.

“Due to the overall high level of uncertainty, we cannot predict a date for a return to normal production in Russia and we cannot schedule production for 2022,” the letter states.

By the way, according to the newspaper, the closure of sites in Nizhny Novgorod or Kaluga is out of the question.

At the same time, the company stressed that the waiting time for repairs under warranty could be longer. But at the same time, the company continues to supply spare parts to Russian dealers.

In early March, Volkswagen announced the suspension of automobile production in Kaluga and Nizhny Novgorod, as well as the termination of automobile supplies to Russia. During the downtime, monetary compensation is paid to employees of enterprises in the amount of 2/3 of their salary.
