In Yakutsk, a drunk man stole a car with two small children in the cabin, traffic police inspectors detained the driver 10 minutes later. In this respect informs Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) Ministry of Internal Affairs UGIBDD.
On the evening of June 21, the mother and her friend went to the store, leaving the sleeping children, aged 4 and 5, in an open-top Toyota Corolla with the engine running. When they returned, they could not find the car and reported the theft to the police.
Thanks to video recording complexes, traffic inspectors found the car and stopped it. The hijacker turned out to be a 55-year-old drunk man. There was also another passenger in the cabin, who stated that he did not remember the kidnapping and did not notice the children. Both men were arrested and taken to the police station.
The children were not injured, and were handed over to their mother with the car. A woman may be prosecuted if the child inspectorate determines that she has improperly discharged her child-rearing responsibilities.
