Unmanned KamAZ trucks will be tested on the M-11 Neva highway, announced Manufacturer from Naberezhnye Chelny.
“At the end of December last year, two KAMAZ-54901 and KAMAZ-54907 vehicles passed on this highway, the road was scanned. “Now, work is underway to create a high-precision digital roadmap that will allow the robot car to position itself with an accuracy of a few centimeters.”
The digital roadmap will include signs, traffic lights, weather stations, bridges, intersections, curbs, ramps and more. This will allow the unmanned truck, described at KamAZ, to plan its movements on the road, while performing various maneuvers. It was not specified when exactly the unmanned cargo transport will be tested on the M-11.
Tests of unmanned vehicles continue in Tatarstan (on the routes from Naberezhnye Chelny to Kazan and Nizhnekamsk). In KamAZ, since March this year, regular trips with two cars are planned along the highway, three more will join them in the III quarter of this year.
