Bradley Cooper, 29, from the Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia, noticed a strangely maneuvering Hyundai iMax and decided to follow it. And now the van, traveling at up to 120 km/h, drove over a double solid line, almost knocking over a cyclist.
When Mr. Cooper overtook the car at a traffic light, he saw two boys wearing masks and gloves inside. Like bad action movies, he would later say.
Without hesitation, he ran to the car, pulled the door handle, and pulled the driver out before causing trouble.
Thus ended the “fun” walk of two teenagers aged 13 and 14 in a stolen van.
Bradley Cooper says when he held the boys down, whoever was driving started begging the uncle to “save his life.” And the second man began to ask him not to say anything to his mother, because “she will kill him”, because he broke the law for the first time.
Two local residents and an off-duty police officer helped restrain Cooper a nagging couple before the police arrive.
The van had been stolen a few days earlier from a Brisbane suburb, 50 miles (80 km) from the city, police said. That is, the teenagers managed to roll enough.
The boys were charged with theft and illegal use of a car and will appear in court later.
