It’s been a long time since Mitsubishi introduced an updated version of the legendary D:5 Delica. This was in 2018.
This is an all-wheel drive minivan prepared for off-road – one might say, a comfortable version of the UAZ “bread”.
But so far, the updated Mitsubishi D:5 Delica has not been delivered to markets other than Japan and Thailand.
In an interview at the opening of the 2022 Asia Cross Country Rally, the CEO of Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corp. (MMPC) Takanobu Suzuki said the company is considering making left-hand drive minivans. For example, the model is delivered to countries where there is a demand for it.
“Today, Mitsubishi is focusing on the crossover and pickup segment, with plans to launch a new pickup truck and two new crossovers in the coming years. But we will continue to explore the possibility of including a minivan in the model line,” said Suzuki-san.
By the way, one of the crossovers will be a car based on the Mitsubishi XFC concept.
The car is left hand drive and will be delivered in Europe.
