The Yekaterinburg City Hall changes the familiar Toyota Camry to the domestic Lada – information about the purchase of new cars by officials appeared on the government procurement website. The order amount is just over 17 million rubles.
In the terms of the tender it is stated that these must be Lada cars or an “equivalent”, with an engine power of 100-150 hp. Earlier, regional media reported that the mayor’s office would buy a total of 11 cars.
Every year, the Yekaterinburg administration buys 7–8 new cars, completely renewing the fleet within 10 years. The transition from Toyota to Lada is due to the fact that the production of Japanese-made cars in the Russian Federation has ceased, and the remaining cars are too expensive, explains the press service of the city administration.
There are of course officials who do not want to drive on Ladakh: they do.
