Even if winter tires do not look quite suitable for driving, many motorists, wanting to save money, do not rush to the store for new “shoes”. The desire to save money doesn’t always justify itself, but there is an alternative to buying new tires: nailing down old wheels.
The spikes can really be put back in place and remain fairly quiet on such a tire for more than a season. For these purposes, repair spikes should be purchased.
Before buying, you just need to measure the depth of the hole in which the new “tooth” will be placed to choose the right model. It should be noted that approximately 120-150 spikes are required per wheel.
To put the spikes, both the patented “doshigun”, which costs about 2000 rubles, and the usual screwdriver nozzle, adjusted with a file, are suitable.
The places where the spikes will “integrate” must first be cleared of debris, dust and small stones, advises MK.
