The rate on the Moscow high-speed diameter is 950 rubles if you drive past it from end to end. Motorists will have to pay in a few months. But not everyone.
The editor-in-chief of Za Rulem magazine, the oldest and most popular automotive publication in Russia, tells who pays and who doesn’t, as well as payment methods and other features of traveling along Moscow’s high-speed diameter .
Maxim Kadakov, editor-in-chief of the magazine “Behind the wheel”:
– There was hope that no toll would be introduced, but no: from January 2, 2023, travel along the Moscow high-speed diameter for transit cars will be paid. The rate is 950 rubles.
Free travel is only for vehicles registered in Moscow and the Moscow region.
For anyone who is on the road for two hours – for a fee. That is, if you slipped in transport (entered the Gorky highway and jumped in the direction of St. Petersburg) – you will pay. And if you drove into Moscow, drove through the part of the MSD, drove to a restaurant or to the cinema and spent more than two hours doing it, then you don’t have to pay.
Traffic is monitored by cameras. Payment – through the website or application “Parking of Russia”.
What if you are registered in Moscow and the car comes from Ryazan? If you are not traveling outside of Moscow, traveling along Moscow’s high-speed diameter is free.
But the question is – if I live in Moscow and the cars are registered in Moscow, but one of them has numbers from another region (there was a period when it was possible), will I pay? It is not clear yet, but in January it will certainly become clear.
