In September, passenger car production in Russia fell by 77.4%

Passenger car production fell 77.4% in September (to 23.8 thousand units) compared to the same period last year, Rosstat data shows. Compared to August, 3.8% fewer cars were produced.

In 9 months from the beginning of the year, 349 thousand cars were produced, which is 65.9% less than in the same period last year.

Production of buses weighing more than 5 tons fell by 21.1% in September from September last year to 1.1 thousand units, but increased by 10.6% from August 2022.

In January-September 2022, the decrease was 12.2% (8.8 thousand units produced), which is lower than in the same period in 2021.

Buses weighing less than 5 tons were produced in September by 51.4% less to 1.1 thousand units (+0.6% compared to August 2022). In the first nine months, a total of 8.5 thousand such buses were produced, 44.7% less than last year.

Trucks in Russia were assembled by 33.8% less, only 11.7 thousand units. (+5.4% compared to August 2022). In the first half of the year, 103.4 thousand trucks were produced, minus 20.4% of the APPG.
