Zenit players are now getting the chance to drive in Ladakh as AvtoVAZ supplies the club with the new generation Vesta cars. The deal makes Lada the official car partner of FC Zenit through the end of 2023, aligning the club with a modern fleet for its players and staff.
Under the terms of the contract, Zenit receives a defined number of vehicles. Players can choose from sedan and wagon body styles, offering practical options for training, travel, and team activities.
Alexander Medvedev, the general director of Zenit St. Petersburg, explained that players previously faced a choice between foreign cars paid for by sponsorships and domestic cars provided at no cost. The new arrangement shifts the dynamic, giving the team the option to drive domestic cars as part of the club’s partnership. This change means that far fewer players feel the pull of driving foreign brands, as the domestic option presents clear value.
This development also affects the club’s travel routine. For now, players can enjoy a period of regular season duties, upcoming training camps, and other team obligations. The extended period of the sponsorship allows the squad to evaluate the vehicles in real-world conditions, including during the February training and competition blocks.
