In July this year, reports emerged about persistent internet connection issues in cars equipped with pre-installed Yandex Auto multimedia systems. Telegram channel No Limits shared these concerns, citing information from dealers representing Chery, Renault, Geely, and Kia.

Dealers noted that the problems stem from instability in the latest software update for the head unit. They also pointed to a separate factor: mobile providers sometimes block access when SIM card holder names are not verified. This combination can disrupt how the head unit connects to the internet and updates during use.

The difficulties appear most often in devices that use a router with a dedicated SIM card supplied by the dealer. Typically, resolving the issue requires disassembling the router to replace or adjust the SIM arrangement.

In Russia, multimedia systems featuring Yandex Auto services have been installed in cars since 2017. These systems are commonly found in models from Lada, Toyota, Renault, Nissan, Kia, and Chery, contributing to a broader trend of integrated on-board software in the domestic market.

Earlier reports from Socialbites noted that the BAIC Ruixiang X5 crossover had entered the Russian market, signaling continued interest in vehicles that pair modern connectivity with official software offerings.
