Pontiac Trans Am owners also raised concerns about the powertrain, while the Ferrari 400 appeared on the list largely due to its styling choices rather than raw performance. Other models that drew negative attention included the DeLorean DMC-12, several GM Kappa platform cars (the Pontiac Solstice and Saturn Sky), and the British classic Triumph Stag.
Readers did not spare the Porsche 911, specifically the early production run from 1964 to 1973, noting frequent engine issues and oil leaks emanating from the gearbox as recurring complaints.
Earlier, consulting firm JD Power published findings on owner satisfaction, derived from a survey of U.S. car owners. The report shed light on how different segments and brands are perceived in terms of ownership experience and overall satisfaction.
Within premium brands, Porsche led with 891 points out of 1000, followed closely by Jaguar with 886 and Land Rover with 882. Among mass-market manufacturers, leaders included MINI at 858, Ram at 854, and Kia at 853, reflecting strong customer sentiment across a broad spectrum of vehicles.
In the electric vehicle segment, the BMW 7 Series sedan was recognized as a top overall model in its class, signaling continued emphasis on luxury electrified sedans. Across individual EV segments, Hyundai-Kia, BMW, and Toyota garnered a notable share of awards, underscoring competition and innovation in the electric space.
