Volvo C40 Recharge Gets Chinese-Mourced Presence in Russia, Sold by Auto Dealers
Reports indicate that auto dealers in Russia have begun listing Chinese-manufactured Volvo C40 Recharge electric crossovers for sale. Many of the 2023 models appear in current advertisements from various sellers. Deliveries from China are coordinated by dealers located in the Moscow region, the Novosibirsk region, and Primorsky Territory. Market prices for these imports range between 4.2 million and 5.7 million rubles.
The Volvo C40 Recharge is a coupe shaped crossover built on the same wheelbase as the petrol XC40 and shares its overall dimensions, measuring 4440 millimeters in length and 1873 millimeters in width. The electric variant stands out with distinctive headlight and bumper designs and a distinctive plug replacing the traditional radiator grille.
The powertrain of the C40 Recharge features two electric motors, one on each axle, producing a combined output of 408 horsepower with torque around 660 Newton meters. The estimated driving range on a full charge reaches about 520 kilometers. The model accelerates from a standstill to one hundred kilometers per hour in roughly 4.7 seconds. Standard equipment includes an Android-based multimedia system, a surround-view camera system, adaptive cruise control, a panoramic sunroof, keyless entry, memory seating with heating, dual-zone climate control, and a Harman Kardon audio system offering thirteen speakers, among other features.
Volvo began producing the C40 Recharge in China during the summer of 2022, in the Taizhou area located south of Shanghai. Previously, reports indicated that Chinese-built versions of Chevrolet Orlando crossover models were entering the Russian market through similar channels. The current listings reflect an ongoing effort to source fully electric vehicles from Chinese manufacturing facilities for Russian customers and reflect broader shifts in the region’s automotive import patterns.
