socialbites.ca reports that car dealers have begun introducing new Volkswagen Lavida sedans from China into the Russian market. Listings appear on electronic boards and dealer sites, with sales carried out by Moscow and Moscow region distributors.

Russian customers are offered several Lavida variants: a restyled second generation starting from 2.1 million rubles and a third-generation update priced from 3.3 million rubles. In China, both variants are marketed concurrently.

The second-generation Lavida sits on the older PQ34 platform and has been produced in Shanghai since 2012. It is available from dealerships with a 1.5-liter engine producing 113 horsepower and an automatic transmission. Inside, imported sedans lack a multimedia system, while the equipment list includes halogen headlights, rear parking sensors, a Start/Stop system, air conditioning, power windows, and six speakers.

The third-generation Lavida, unveiled in 2018, rides the modern MQB modular platform. In 2022, a refreshed version reached China and was exported to Russia with a 1.5-liter engine producing 150 horsepower paired with a DSG automatic gearbox.

Standard equipment in the updated model bundle comprises LED headlights, a digital instrument cluster, a 12-inch infotainment display, climate control, an electronic parking brake, a sunroof, parking sensors, a rearview camera, and other contemporary features.

Historically, Chinese Xpeng P5 sedans were also observed in Russia at a price around 3.3 million rubles.
