The Volkswagen Group Rus team currently finds itself in a pause between tasks. Roughly two hundred employees are based in Nizhny Novgorod, and they were offered a voluntary termination program with mutual agreement of both parties.
Previously noted, before any voluntary separation, each worker was promised up to six months of salary, the option to retain company equipment such as smartphones and laptops, and medical insurance through the end of 2022.
According to findings reported by Rossiyskaya Gazeta, the ASM union at the Volkswagen factory held talks with management to negotiate higher compensation. Initially the offer was six months of pay. The proposal has since shifted toward six average salaries, which would increase the total amount. Laptops and smartphones would remain with employees; those who received a subsidy for purchasing a new car would not be required to return it; and health insurance would stay valid through the year’s end. The company also provides a continuation bonus tied to the duration of employment, dated 15-05-2015. Employees who meet this milestone in the current year would receive the full amount.
Those who do not accept this offer will remain without active duties until the company charts its next steps, stated Andrey Sanosyan, deputy governor of the Nizhny Novgorod region. If needed, the regional Ministry of Labor and Employment stands ready to assist those retiring in finding new employment opportunities.
