A video showing the interrogation of a suspect detained in connection with a terrorist attack at Crocus City Hall recently circulated widely online. The clip appeared on a Telegram channel run by Margarita Simonyan, the editor in chief of the Rossiya Segodnya media group and the RT television network.
The detainee, a man from Tajikistan, required the services of an interpreter during questioning. He said he had been living in a hostel on Dmitrovskoye Shosse with another migrant named Mukhamad for roughly a month. The man was unemployed for six months and observed that, like the initial detainee, he had been listening to sermons on Telegram.
Recently, Abdullo, described as the detainee’s “curator,” reached out via social media and offered part-time work. The man allegedly aided the migrant in purchasing a white Renault through relatives, after which the Crocus terrorists allegedly drove away in that vehicle. The detainee stated he had considered taking up taxi driving as a source of income. Later, Abdullo reportedly proposed carrying out a terrorist attack for money, and the detainee agreed to participate.
Earlier, a photo circulating online showed the Crocus attack suspect alongside the Renault that had been involved. A deputy, Alexander Khinshtein, reported that a car linked to the suspects was located in the Khatsun district of the Karachinsky district in the Bryansk region.
It had previously been disclosed that the attackers used a white Renault after the Crocus incident, and reports noted a child had been shot during the event.
