A man gave a child a driving lesson in a small toy car right in the middle of Koltsovskaya Street in Voronezh, between two flowing streams of cars. The stretch is a narrow lane meant to allow emergency vehicles to pass more freely, yet reckless drivers frequently squeeze into it, treating it like a race track rather than a lane for safety.
Online commentators labeled the parents in various ways, with some jokingly calling the father the father of the year while others awarded a Darwin Award. There were also insinuations that if the mother took charge, she would be named mother of the year, highlighting the online culture around parenting missteps.
The police watched the clip and began searching for the so-called instructor involved in the stunt.
The authorities emphasized that parents should be role models for their children, and any illegal behavior is unacceptable. They noted that pedestrian-related incidents have increased, including 37 such accidents this year, and a third of the injured were children under ten. Legal action is expected to follow to assess the father’s actions and determine accountability. Investigative measures are underway to locate him and hold him responsible.
A local resident, Nika Gorlova, expressed fear about walking with children on sidewalks, worrying that an unpredictable driver could endanger them. Another commenter, Natalia Suzdalkina, hoped the mother was not the one filming, suggesting that modern parents sometimes film their kids for social media attention rather than focusing on education and safety.
A commenter named Sergey proposed a broader critique, noting that many modern parents may prioritize online hype over responsible parenting, a trend that encourages sensational content rather than real safety education for children.
In a reflective verse posted by a user, a sense of shared concern appears: a child rides a toy car along the road while nearby drivers seem unaware of the danger, a scene that underscores how risky such actions are and why adult supervision matters so much.
