Vesta production shifts to Togliatti: progress update and testing phase

The renewed Vesta is steadily moving its production from Izhevsk to Togliatti. In recent months, workers observed the first samples assembled on the Togliatti line, and official confirmations followed, indicating that test assembly had begun. Until now, the test cars were either undergoing laboratory evaluations or serving as training models for staff on the factory floor.

A fresh category of pre-production vehicles has emerged: some of the manufactured units are being allocated to specific factory divisions for operational testing. This step allows real-world workflow assessments and performance checks within actual production environments, helping to iron out remaining issues before full-scale rollout.

Historically, the factory employed a practice of using cars from the promising model category for internal development. Before the Renault group’s involvement, employees drove pre-production cars and kept logs documenting performance data, which in turn informed design refinements and helped correct assembly variances.

Serial assembly in Tolyatti was anticipated to commence in a later period, with the known timeline originally pointing to a spring start. In the interim, dealers have continued to offer the residual Izhevsk inventory, balancing supply while the Togliatti line ramps up.
