The Vesta NG: Specifications, Equipment, and Expected Market Position

From its inception, the Vesta NG has been equipped with a 90 hp eight-valve engine paired with a manual transmission. The lineup includes body styles such as a sedan, a station wagon, and a cross station wagon featuring increased ground clearance. A cross sedan variant that appeared earlier in the range has not yet been announced for production.

Standard features encompass full LED exterior lighting with traditional bulbs limited to the rear turn signals, heated windshield, heated mirrors and front seats, air conditioning, parking sensors, and a multimedia system with a 7-inch touch screen and 17-inch wheels.

There is no precise breakdown of features by trim level, nor a complete catalog of options and prices. However, industry observers have offered educated predictions. Maxim Kadakov, editor-in-chief of Behind the Wheel, shares his assessment.

Kadakov suggests that the Vesta NG will enter the market with average equipment in a price range around 1.5 million rubles. In this band, roughly from one million to two million, new cars are scarce and most likely found in the used market. That positioning makes the price alignment with current market realities clear, Kadakov notes.

Looking ahead, the plan includes continued development: a 16-valve engine is anticipated by mid-2023, followed by a variator in 2024, a digital instrument cluster, and a vertically oriented multimedia screen with tablet-like capabilities planned for late 2023.
