The average price for used crossovers and SUVs in Russia rose by about 30.3% in the third quarter of 2023, according to Izvestia, citing Avito Auto.
In this period the typical price for a pre-owned vehicle in this segment reached around 1,499,000 rubles. The top-selling used crossover and SUV models during Q3 2023 were led by Lada 4×4, Chevrolet Niva, Kia Sportage, Toyota RAV4, Volkswagen Tiguan, Hyundai Santa Fe, Nissan Qashqai, BMW X5, Nissan X-Trail and Mitsubishi Outlander [citation: Izvestia via Avito Auto].
During July to September 2023, the share of used crossover and SUV sales within the overall used car market stood at 22.8%. The segment’s portion of the market grew by about 3 percentage points over the year [citation: Izvestia via Avito Auto].
Earlier data indicate that the Russian automobile market overall expanded by roughly 120.5% in September 2023 compared with the same month a year earlier, and by 42.8% across the first three quarters of 2023. In the January–September period, the quickest-selling brands by volume were led by Lada with about 242,600 units sold.
