The Moscow Ministry of Transport reported a traffic incident on Novy Arbat Street involving a pedestrian who crossed the roadway at a location not designated for crossing. The information came through a department Telegram channel report.
The pedestrian was found lying on the median strip, according to the release.
City operational teams were dispatched to the scene. Authorities said efforts were underway to determine the circumstances and to identify any victims. The publication noted that traffic flow in the vicinity remained manageable at the time of the incident.
Earlier, there had been a collision between two vehicles on the inner side of the Garden Ring in Moscow, which caused one car to leave the roadway.
The incident location was cited as Arbat Street 54/2s1, with municipal emergency services present on site.
As a result of the incident, traffic in three of the five lanes was blocked.
On July 11, a Nissan struck a safety island staffed by traffic police on Novy Arbat. Two police officers sustained injuries, though one officer avoided more serious harm and was able to move to the roadside. A video of the crash was released later.
A separate report described a head-on collision involving a Mercedes in Moscow, resulting in a vehicle overturning.
