The Kia Seltos, a compact crossover that has been on the market since 2019, has received a fresh update in Korea. Sales of the refreshed model began on July 22 in the South Korean market, signaling a modernized approach for this popular compact SUV.
Visually, the Seltos gets a restrained refresh that sharpens its exterior character. The headlights and lamps adopt a refined lighting signature, while the bumpers and tailgate receive updated styling cues. The radiator grille is enlarged and now features elements of the daytime running lights integrated within it, giving the front end a more contemporary presence.
Inside, the cabin offers a more cohesive digital experience. A 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster sits alongside a 10.25-inch media system display, creating a unified, high-tech cockpit. A rotary shift dial replaces the traditional automatic transmission selector, simplifying operation. The climate control system has been redesigned to be more ergonomic and user-friendly, enhancing comfort for both drivers and passengers.

From a powertrain perspective, the model’s engine lineup has been refreshed. The 1.6-liter T-GDI turbo petrol engine, which had been offered in other markets, now produces 198 horsepower, up from 177 horsepower previously. It is paired with an eight-speed hydromechanical automatic transmission, replacing the earlier seven-speed dual-clutch unit. The engine torque remains at 265 Nm, preserving strong in-gear acceleration while benefiting from smoother, more linear power delivery.
In Korea, a naturally aspirated 2.0-liter petrol engine producing 149 horsepower is also offered. This engine is paired with a continuously variable transmission, delivering a different driving character that emphasizes efficiency and smoothness. The drive options continue to include front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive, catering to varying climate and road conditions based on buyer preference.
Estimated pricing in Korea for the updated Seltos ranges from 20,620,000 to 26,850,000 won, depending on the trim level and equipment, roughly equivalent to 888,000 to 1,156,000 rubles at current exchange rates. The price positioning reflects the enhanced features and technology integrated into the refreshed model, aligning with market expectations for a compact SUV in this segment.
Historically, the Seltos was produced for Russia at the Avtotor plant in Kaliningrad. However, due to tightening sanctions, production has been suspended since early May. At this time, predicting when the updated Seltos will return to the Russian market is uncertain given the evolving geopolitical and economic environment.
