Transport News reports that AvtoVAZ is planning to lift the output of its refreshed Lada Vesta models, citing the Avtograd community on VKontakte as the source of the update. The company’s move signals a renewed push to increase production capacity for the updated Vesta lineup, aligning with broader plans to strengthen output in the wake of earlier supply challenges and shifting manufacturing logistics within Russia.
Initial plans had targeted the assembly of 4,000 units of the upgraded Vesta in the Togliatti facility during April. However, those projections have been revised upward, with a new target of 4,500 vehicles slated to roll off the line in the upcoming month. For March, the company is aiming to complete about 1,700 cars. Industry insiders note that AvtoVAZ is currently sustaining an output rate of up to 30 updated Vestas per day as part of this ramp-up, reflecting a steady acceleration in production as the supply chain stabilizes.
The refreshed Lada Vesta project began in February 2022, but production faced a temporary halt due to a shortage of spare parts. In response, AvtoVAZ decided to relocate the Vesta assembly from the Izhevsk plant to the Togliatti site, a shift intended to consolidate manufacturing and streamline parts availability. The company subsequently announced that the updated Vesta would enter the market in May 2023, marking a new phase in the model’s lifecycle and a broader effort to refresh the brand’s offerings with improved materials and technology.
In related disclosures, AvtoVAZ has previously showcased new sportier variants of the Vesta and the Granta, signaling a strategy to broaden the product family and appeal to diverse buyer segments. The ongoing evolution of the Vesta line reflects the manufacturer’s commitment to updating its core models while exploring performance-focused options that can attract new customers and retain existing ones in a competitive market.
