AvtoVAZ is on track to finish installing manufacturing equipment for the updated Lada Vesta at the Togliatti plant by March 2023, according to a report from TASS citing the Samara region government press service. The note makes clear that completing this equipment setup will enable the site to ramp up production to a total of 400,000 vehicles each year starting the following year.
The company positions the updated Vesta as a NG, or next generation model, signaling a refresh that aims to extend the model’s life in the lineup. The production line restart was delayed in February due to a shortage of spare parts, but the plan remains to move forward with the new generation after the supply issues are resolved.
In a separate development, AvtoVAZ earlier announced price adjustments for the Lada Largus line. Beginning August 1, 2022, the manufacturer raised the suggested retail prices across all variants of the family by 65,000 rubles, reflecting shifts in market conditions and input costs that impact the broader model range.
