Prices for used UAZ SUVs have shown notable movement, especially for popular models like the Hunter. At the start of a recent year, the market price for a Hunter with mileage often exceeded a million rubles, while a few months earlier similar cars were offered around 820 thousand rubles. These shifts were tracked by Avito Auto, a service known for aggregating listings and providing snapshots of market dynamics. The same trend is visible with the Patriot, where the asking price rose by about 23 percent over 11 months, climbing from 1.1 million rubles to roughly 1.3 million rubles. In other words, as supply tightens and demand remains steady, the value of these niches stores of power and practicality tends to gain traction in the used-car segment.

Across January to November 2022, UAZ SUVs demonstrated a substantial price uptick, with typical models gaining approximately 250 to 280 thousand rubles, translating to a 22 to 24 percent increase. This pattern reflects broader market realities such as limited new-vehicle availability, currency effects, and consumer preference for rugged, affordable utility vehicles. Prospective buyers often weigh the trade-off between newer features and the enduring reliability associated with established platforms, leading to persistent demand for stock that has proven its durability in real-world use.

It is also worth noting that, despite shortages in auto parts and components, UAZ continues to produce simplified variants of its line. These versions emphasize essential performance and robustness, sometimes featuring engines that meet a lower environmental class and pared-down electronics. In practice, this means fewer high-end systems and more straightforward maintenance, which can appeal to buyers who prioritize long-term serviceability and lower ownership costs.

In the ongoing effort to balance affordability and safety, some Patriot configurations have appeared with reductions in equipment that affect active safety features. For example, the so-called anti-crisis edition labeled Patriot Base Icarus omits brake force distribution systems, ABS, and airbags, and uses cloth upholstery instead of more premium seating. Instead of a modern Korean Dymos gearbox, a Chinese BAIC unit has sometimes been installed. These changes substantially lower upfront costs while preserving the core off-road capability and space the model offers. For buyers weighing a budget-friendly option, these versions illustrate how strategic simplifications can affect price without erasing the fundamental value of the vehicle family.
