UAZ plans to upgrade the stamping equipment used in crafting body parts for Patriot SUVs, according to recent reports. The changes involve a new manufacturing approach implemented by a subsidiary of the UAZ-Techinstrument automobile plant. The update includes modifications to the clamp on the left-side stamp of the Patriot body, which is expected to enhance the precision of the interface where the front pillar meets the windshield. In addition, parts of the mold that shape the SUV’s front floor panel will be replaced, a measure aimed at refining the overall geometry of the vehicle’s base. The goal is to tighten fit and finish while maintaining efficient production workflows across the factory floor. These updates reflect a broader push to improve the consistency and quality of Patriot assemblies through upgraded tooling and process control.

The stamping process for the B-pillar reinforcement has also been upgraded. This improvement is designed to expand the range of door alignment adjustments during mounting on the production line, enabling smoother, more accurate gaps between doors and door frames. With these enhancements, the assembly line can achieve tighter tolerances and more uniform gaps, contributing to a more precise finished product.

Earlier reports indicate that AvtoVAZ began testing crossover mules built on the Lada Vesta platform, providing a potential context for how automakers are adapting platform technology to new models. This testing phase underscores ongoing collaboration and alignment across brands in the region as manufacturing strategies evolve to meet evolving consumer expectations and regulatory standards.
