Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant has begun reintroducing a feature that powers the rear axle with a fully locked differential. This news comes via the portal Car News of the Day, which cited the enterprise’s press service. The option had been temporarily unavailable in recent months, but it is now back on the table for UAZ buyers.
According to the UAZ press service, demand for the retrofitted locking option remains strong. The company notes that customers continue to request the feature, prompting the company to reinstate it in the official price lists and to expand its availability across the lineup. The back-end lock is offered as an optional feature for all UAZ models, including Patriot and Hunter SUVs, the Pickup and SGR models (Loaf), as well as flatbed vans and Profi commercial trucks, with pricing set to reflect its added capability.
Earlier statements indicated that UAZ would begin assembling updated Profi trucks in October. These updated vehicles are to be equipped with specialized shock absorbers for both the transmission and the transfer case. The firm asserts that this improvement is designed to reduce vibrations transmitted to the arms and to raise the overall acoustic comfort inside the cabin, creating a quieter, more stable driving experience for operators in commercial use.
In a related note, it was reported that Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant plans to produce 120 UAZ SGR vehicles with special designs commemorating the classic UAZ-450 model from 1958. This initiative highlights the brand’s nod to its heritage while expanding its current product family with distinctive editions for the domestic market. (Source: UAZ press service)
