To honor the occasion, a special UAZ-469 variant was staged in Ulyanovsk, designed to echo the earliest appearance of the SUV. Its official designation for this release is the UAZ-469 “Anniversary Series.” The design team took the iconic rear double doors from the original hatch layout and added folding benches in the cargo area. In addition to the familiar metal roof, a traditional canopy on a frame was incorporated, reminiscent of the model’s historic silhouette. True to its roots, the vehicle features no ABS and a zero-emissions engine configuration for the era, though it uses fuel injection—an ironic nod to 2022’s automotive reality.
Much of what people expect from a modern Special Expedition model remains intact. The vehicle carries robust bumpers, side steps, alloy wheels, and a winch that echo its current generation, limited-edition siblings. Rather than a conventional roof rack, a snorkel is fitted. The bodywork, paired with a metallic front cabin panel, is finished in a matte black coating branded as Raptor. Inside, heated seating and striking red stitching provide a tactile contrast, adding a touch of contemporary comfort to a historically styled interior.
In total, fifty commemorative 469s have been produced. The price is set at 1,650,000 rubles. These units are not distributed through typical dealerships; orders are handled directly by the manufacturing plant via a dedicated website. Buyers receive a guided tour of the UAZ production facilities and the associated museum as part of the package.
Requires 7,000 tires in popular sizes
Without proper tires, public order cannot be maintained, and medical services cannot reach those in need.
One initiative connected to the vehicle’s launch saw the charity effort “Behind the Wheel” join forces with the Popular Front to raise funds. The goal is to purchase tires for vehicles used by law enforcement, emergency response teams, and humanitarian aid convoys that traverse challenging regions. These tires support ambulances, the Ministry of Emergency Situations, and the transport of humanitarian goods for affected communities. Contributions can be made on the dedicated collection page.
