In Krasnoyarsk, a tragic accident led to two small children being hurled from a car window, a scene that shocked a community. While the taxi driver who ran a red light bore clear responsibility for the crash, it was also noted that the parents struggled to safeguard their two young daughters, aged three years and six months, a factor that contributed to the overall risk of harm.
The collision involved two Honda vehicles. The taxi collided with a second car, which nosed into a spin that sent the children from the back seat and onto the roadway. The sudden movement highlighted how rapid, unforeseen forces inside a vehicle can endanger those riding in the back seat, especially children who should be secured in age-appropriate restraints.
Investigations revealed that the three-year-old was not secured in a functioning child restraint, while the six-month-old baby rested entirely in the mother’s arms. Both children and the woman were transported to intensive care, with the children described as in moderate condition and the mother not requiring hospitalization. The incident underscores the essential role of proper seat belts and child seats for all passengers, particularly young children, in preventing serious injuries during crashes.
Decisions on pursuing charges against the 23-year-old taxi driver followed the review of the circumstances. The individual operating the black Honda was fined three thousand rubles for violating rules on transporting children, a result recorded under Part 3, Article 12.23 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation. The outcome reinforces that traffic safety violations involving children carry concrete penalties, even when multiple factors contribute to an accident.
