Two men attempted to flee from police in Moscow, triggering a major road incident. The information comes from the press service of the Russian Guard in Moscow, as cited by TASS. Officers first spotted the car and began signaling for it to stop.
The foreign-registered vehicle accelerated away from pursuing officers, causing damage to multiple vehicles as it moved along the roadway. Law enforcement did not receive a response to repeated demands to halt, and the driver continued to maneuver in a way that created a hazardous situation for other motorists.
The pursuit ended when several warning shots were fired from the service weapon, after which the suspects were detained and handed over to the police for further investigation.
In a separate incident, a KamAZ truck carrying softwood logs overturned after colliding with another vehicle in the Omsk region. The impact crushed the cabin of the log-laden truck, and the driver, born in 1963, along with a passenger born in 1974, were transported to a medical facility for treatment following the crash.
Earlier reporting indicated that a driver had stolen a traffic police vehicle while a criminal complaint was already being filed against him.
