In the Tayezhny village of Lesnoy, located in Sverdlovsk Region, a heavy truck collided with a heating pipe, triggering a disruption that left more than 70 residential buildings without heat. This incident was reported through the district attorney’s office Telegram channel, underscoring the rapid impact on local residents during colder periods.
The outage stemmed from an accident that occurred the day prior. A truck damaged a heating network compensator near Kultury Street in the village of Taezhny, leading to a broader energy shortfall for the community.
As a result of the damage, heat supply was initially halted for 72 homes in the village. The district statement clarified that the affected housing stock consists of 12 apartments and 60 private houses in Taiga, illustrating the mix of urban and rural residences tied to the heating network.
Regional traffic police added that the driver, born in 1986 and with 17 years of driving experience, operating a MAZ vehicle, failed to account for the truck’s dimensions. This miscalculation led to a collision with the heating pipe and road signs along the route.
The driver did not suffer injuries in the crash. The traffic police noted that the requisite investigative procedures were conducted by the State Traffic Inspectorate at the scene to determine the precise circumstances and responsibility for the incident.
In related news, earlier reports mentioned a shuttle bus of the Gazelle model catching fire in Naberezhnye Chelny while carrying passengers, highlighting ongoing safety concerns in regional transport and infrastructure networks.
