In Orenburg, a truck driver caused a collision that damaged nine parked cars in a busy parking area, according to statements cited by TASS and attributed to the regional Ministry of Internal Affairs.
Officials from the Orenburg State Traffic Inspectorate reported that the truck driver had fallen asleep behind the wheel after a night of snow removal, which led to the accident with multiple parked vehicles. The incident resulted in damage to nine cars parked in the lot, highlighting the risks associated with fatigue after snow-cleaning duties in adverse weather.
Video footage from the RU CHP Telegram channel shows the truck traveling along a roadway, then entering a parking area without reducing speed. It struck several cars, toppled a guardrail, and then rolled into another adjacent parking area where more vehicles were damaged. After the chain of impacts, the vehicle continued to move briefly before coming to a stop on the road again.
The report also notes a separate incident from earlier that month. On the morning of January 3, a collision occurred in the Moscow region involving a taxi and a train, resulting in two fatalities. Preliminary information indicated that the taxi driver had significantly violated traffic rules, contributing to the severity of that crash.
