Toyota Crown Sport: New Japan debut with hybrid power, bold styling, and a planned Crown lineup

Toyota unveiled a new Crown Sport crossover in Japan, expanding the Crown family that was previously slated for global rollout. After the Crown Sport entered the market in November, Toyota signaled plans to introduce a sedan and a larger Crown Estate crossover in Japan. The Crown Sport stretches to 4720 mm in length and rolls on 21-inch wheels, underscoring a bold, modern silhouette.

Inside, the cabin blends classic cues with practical thinking. The instrument cluster and the infotainment display sit on a single horizontal plane, reducing eye shifts for the driver. Designers also refined the door sills and trim shapes to ease entry and exit, especially in busy urban settings.

Power for the Crown Sport in Japan comes from a hybrid setup based on a 2.5-liter gasoline engine, with a rechargeable version also available. The suspension layout features MacPherson struts up front and a multi-link arrangement at the rear, aiming for a composed ride with confident handling. Exterior options include six primary colors and five two-tone combinations, offering buyers a range of personalization choices. In Japan, the Crown Sport carries a starting price of 5.9 million yen.

A separate automotive note mentions that AvtoVAZ has adjusted prices for many versions of the Lada Vesta sedans, reflecting broader market dynamics in the region.
