Toyota Motor Corporation forecast a record-breaking year for 2023, with the company stating it aimed to push out a new all-time high in global vehicle production. The figures indicate the automaker produced 9.23 million vehicles during 2023, topping the previous peak set in 2019 when output reached 9.05 million units.
In November 2023, Toyota and its subsidiaries Daihatsu and Hino together manufactured around 926.5 thousand vehicles. The company, along with its divisions, also led global auto sales for the third year in a row, concluding the year with a total of about 10.5 million vehicles sold.
In related product news, announcements emerged that the new large crossover Aito M9 had entered the Chinese market. The model is offered in hybrid and fully electric configurations, with prices starting at 469.8 thousand yuan (roughly 6.1 million rubles at the exchange rate at publication).
