In Yekaterinburg, the staff at a driving school faced an awkward crisis when attempting to move a parked vehicle. The broken car could not be towed without risk, and the plan to have it repaired was executed poorly. One rushed maneuver led to instability, and the vehicle began to slide at an odd angle. Eventually it brushed against a neighboring car, a Lada that happened to be parked nearby. The owner of that car noticed the new dent and tracked down the culprits with the help of a security camera, which captured the incident and the subsequent missteps in the towing process.

Without proper traction and equipment, public order can falter, and swift medical response may be delayed for those who need it most. In response, an initiative called Behind the Wheel, in partnership with the Popular Front, began coordinating fundraising efforts. The goal is to purchase tires for vehicles belonging to the People’s Police and other essential services in the Donetsk and Luhansk People’s Republics, as well as ambulances, emergency services, humanitarian aid delivery vehicles for residents in Donbass, and military logistics units.
