In 2023, the average price for a passenger tire in Russia stood at 6.2 thousand rubles, reflecting a decline of about five percent from the year before. This assessment comes from Izvestia, which cited the press service of the national digital marking system Honest Sign. With this level of pricing, a complete set of four tires would total roughly 25 thousand rubles.
Data showed that the weighted average cost of a passenger tire dropped by five percent year over year, landing at 6.2 thousand rubles. Meanwhile, prices for truck tires moved in the opposite direction, rising by five percent to about 24.2 thousand rubles per tire. For agricultural machinery tires, the average price remained close to the prior year, around 14.6 thousand rubles, whereas tires designed for construction and mining equipment nearly doubled to about 56.7 thousand rubles per tire.
The report also noted shifts in tire pricing across seasons. Summer tires became cheaper due to the introduction of new Chinese brands, while winter tires grew more expensive in the approaching season.
Earlier reports mentioned a Bridgestone facility in Ulyanovsk that would commence producing cars tires under a new brand. Under the terms of the agreement, the new owners would be prohibited from using the Bridgestone name and brand, with a brand transition expected to occur in the near future. Company representatives indicated that testing, commissioning, and restarting production at the plant would begin soon.
There have been prior European analyses suggesting suspicions of price fixing among tire manufacturers.
