Terminal Replacement Procedure
The old terminal should be removed by cutting it away. Next, a small section of the wire is stripped and its condition checked. If signs of oxidation appear, the conductors require cleaning. A reliable option is tinning the wires using a sturdy soldering iron to ensure a strong, corrosion resistant surface.
After preparation, the wire end is secured in a clamp designed for this specific fastening method. If the wire ends with a ring terminal, simply attach it to the new terminal tip. If the wire is severely damaged along its length, it should be replaced with a commercially available two terminal wire assembly.
Finally, attach the terminal tip that demonstrated the highest performance in testing results.
Which terminal should be removed first?
