In the Kursk region, ten local enterprises are prepared to begin manufacturing the components needed for the Lada production line at AVTOVAZ facilities. This update came from Governor Roman Starovoit, who said he has held talks with AVTOVAZ leadership about securing a steady supply of parts for the assembly line.

The governor noted that the market has shifted away from foreign suppliers, presenting an opportunity for Kursk-based manufacturers to become key suppliers for the full range of AVTOVAZ vehicles. This perspective was shared by the Kursk regional press, which quoted Starovoit on the strategic move to deepen regional resilience by localizing the supply chain for AVTOVAZ’s production needs.

Starovoit explained that ten companies within the region have expressed willingness to produce components for AVTOVAZ. In the coming weeks, the executives of these firms will engage in negotiations with AVTOVAZ representatives to determine the specific parts to be manufactured and the timeline for integration into the assembly line. The exact list of parts remains to be confirmed as discussions progress.

Earlier this year, in June, AVTOVAZ saw the departure of a seat supplier for Renault vehicles produced at AVTOVAZ, with the Turkish manufacturing facility previously located in the Ulyanovsk region shifting its operations away from Russia. Governor Aleksey Russkikh highlighted that 19 enterprises in the Ulyanovsk region had previously supplied goods to the AVTOVAZ conveyor, marking a notable shift in the regional supply ecosystem and signaling potential new opportunities for Kursk suppliers.

  • Earlier in March, AVTOVAZ concluded an agreement with component suppliers from Asia, signaling a broader sourcing strategy. In October, meaningful options re-emerged for the Lada Niva family, underscoring ongoing adjustments in the model lineup and supply considerations.
  • A note from the automotive beat adds that the latest developments and insights can be followed on Odnoklassniki under the segment titled “Behind the wheel.”
