The Chinese automaker SWM has announced plans to equip the G01 and G01F crossovers, manufactured at the Avtotor plant in Kaliningrad, with its latest configurations. The information comes from Autostat and confirms a market positioning that targets mid-range buyers. In Russia, both models are expected to carry a price range starting from roughly 2 million to around 3 million rubles, signaling a competitive entry in the local SUV segment.
Under the hood, both SWM G01 and G01F are powered by a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine producing about 138 horsepower and 212 newton-meters of torque. The powertrain is paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch automated transmission, designed to deliver quick shifts and a smooth drive. In terms of size, the G01 measures 4610 millimeters in length, 1855 millimeters in width, and 1740 millimeters in height, with a wheelbase of 2750 millimeters. The G01F extends the platform by 60 millimeters while maintaining similar overall proportions and capabilities, making it a slightly roomier option without a dramatic change in footprint.
Standard and optional equipment for the G01 and G01F highlight a modern, tech-forward interior. A seven-inch digital instrument cluster provides essential driving metrics, complemented by LED headlights and a panoramic sunroof for a brighter cabin atmosphere. Comfort features include a ventilated driver’s seat, while the multimedia experience is anchored by an Android-based system featuring a 10-inch display and a SIM card slot for constant internet access. The audio system comprises nine speakers plus a subwoofer, delivering a richer soundstage for everyday driving and longer trips. Safety and driver-assist packages for the G01F specifically include blind-spot monitoring, lane-departure warning, and proactive alerts for potential hazards when doors are opened, contributing to a more confident ride experience in varying traffic conditions.
Looking ahead, the brand plans to expand the SKUs offered in Russia with a larger, full-size crossover known as the G05 Pro by the end of the summer season. The Shineray Group, a diversified manufacturer that has been active since 1997, has produced a broad lineup of automobiles, motorcycles, and special equipment under the SWM brand since 2016. Originally, the Italian SWM brand built motorcycle components during the period from 1972 to 1984, and this heritage informs the current emphasis on performance and reliability across its modern SUV range.
Earlier market news also noted shifts in pricing for other regional players, with reports indicating that the Chinese automaker Tank raised its prices on 2023 Tank 300 and Tank 500 SUVs in Russia, reflecting a broader trend of price adjustments affecting imported and locally assembled models in the market and illustrating a dynamic pricing environment for mid-sized crossovers and related vehicles.
