In St. Petersburg, a Mazda driver struck two pedestrians at a crosswalk late on the evening of June 30 and then fled the scene. The information came from the press service of the Telegram channel headed by the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region, which reported the incident.
The collision happened in the Kolpinsky district of the city.
According to the statement, near house 60 on Proletarskaya Street a Mazda-3 driver crossed an irregular crosswalk and collided with two pedestrians before ramming a Ford Focus parked at house 58 on the same street, after which the car left the scene. Earlier reports indicated a separate incident involving reckless driving in Yekaterinburg where a driver with epilepsy knocked down a girl and damaged a traffic light, followed by a faulty sequence where a schoolchild tried to assist but was left in danger.
Officials emphasized the need for strict adherence to traffic rules and the importance of drivers staying at the scene after collisions to aid victims and cooperate with investigators. The case is under ongoing review by local law enforcement and traffic safety authorities to determine exact circumstances and to pursue accountability for all involved parties.
